This summer marks 20 years of our family running The Creative Shop, so thought we’d share the story so far… 
In 2006, after careers in printing & primary teaching, Simon & Lynda sought a new challenge, with son Kieran just 7 years old. Taking over the existing stock, retail space & trading name from Jim & Yvonne, The Creative Shop began its journey to where it is today.
From our original premises, opposite NEXT where our friends Terry’s Tato’s Ltd are now, we were a very cosy little shop specialising in art materials & framing.
In 2013, we moved up Strand Street to No 5 – formerly Arcadia Stationery. From here, we massively increased our range of arts, crafts & stationery, growing into the Aladdin’s Cave you know & love today!
In 2014, we were fortunate enough to have Georgia join our team, after a brief yet eventual spell working at a dry cleaners… She’s been an integral part of our family ever since, & in 2023, welcomed baby Mackenzie to the Creative Crew
In 2022, after many years part-time in the shop, graduating from university with a degree in Product Design, & working 2 years in engineering, Kieran joined the family business full-time.
Over the years, we have faced financial crises, supply-chain collapses, a global pandemic, the rise of online shopping, local infrastructure ‘developments’, & major changes to high-street shopping & footfall. However, we’ve always strived to be diverse, adaptable, versatile, & outgoing – supplying quality products & a friendly service. We will continue to offer a fabulous range of arts & crafts, quality picture framing, stationery supplies, graphic design & printing, laser cutting & engraving, Manx prints & souvenirs, plus lots more!
A great deal of gratitude to the lovely folk who have joined us in this adventure; Sue, Paul, Robert, Nom, Christian, Sonia, Magda, Harley, Emma, Sarah, Amiee, Ellie, Elise, & Georgia!
